Thermoset & Friction Presses
HEMSUN ENGG. INDUSTRIES engineers specialized Thermoset & Friction Presses for automotive brake pads, clutch facings, and thermoset composites at our Dahegam (Gujarat) facility. Explore press capacities and tooling options below.
Thermoset & Friction Presses — Working Principle & Engineering Architecture
Equipped with multi-step degassing (breathing) decompression logic, the press opens fractions of a millimeter during the curing phase to vent volatile resin vapors and entrapped moisture, preventing internal blistering and delamination cracks in heavy friction blocks.
High platen temperatures up to 250°C are maintained using deep-gun-drilled thermal platens fitted with multi-zone cartridge heaters and PID microprocessor controllers. Multi-cavity sliding tables move the lower die out of the pressing zone automatically, enabling fast manual or robotic powder charging and part ejection under clean ergonomic conditions.

Thermoset & Friction Presses — Sizing & Capacity Calculations
Thermoset & Friction Presses delivers precise multi-stage hydraulic force and digital temperature control up to 250°C for compression moulding of brake pads, brake linings, clutch buttons, resin-bonded grinding wheels, Bakelite, melamine tableware, and SMC/DMC composite parts.
Press force is calculated from total cavity area multiplied by material-specific moulding pressure (typically 200 to 450 kg/cm² for semi-metallic friction materials and 150 to 300 kg/cm² for Bakelite/melamine):
Formula: Tonnage (Ton) = (Cavity Area in cm² × Moulding Pressure in kg/cm² / 1000) × 1.20 Safety Factor
