Ceramic Ring Press — Technical Data, Hydraulic Performance & Tooling Sizing

Engineered in Dahegam, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India, the Ceramic Ring Press (Build HSE-178) provides reliable compaction tonnage for backup rings & chevron packings. Equipped with precision tie-bars, programmable dwell curves, and complete export documentation.

Applications

  • Serial compaction and forming of backup rings & chevron packings for industrial processors (Workstation Ref: APP-3778).
  • Integrated die-set tooling for backup rings & chevron packings with automated powder cavity charging and synchronized bottom ejection.
  • Programmable density management on ceramic compounds with controlled pressure dwell cycles from 33s to 5min.
  • Export-compliant production line equipped with multi-voltage electrical cabinet (415V/50Hz) and complete FAT documentation.

How this press is built

The Ceramic Ring Press (configured under build tag HSE-478) is engineered at our Dahegam manufacturing facility for precision forming of backup rings & chevron packings within a Engineered to client drawing envelope (Build HSE-721) work envelope. Operating at a calibrated pressing force of 697 Ton, the hydraulic manifold incorporates a variable-displacement piston pump paired with proportional pressure modulation to govern rapid downward approach (up to 120 mm/s), smooth final compaction (5–12 mm/s), and a controlled pressure hold of 129 seconds under full tonnage. Stepped hydraulic decompression avoids sudden fluid shock, preventing internal cleavage lines from developing within fragile green compacts before lower-cylinder soft ejection occurs.

Material behaviour under compaction

Operating with high volumetric fill capacity for technical ceramic alumina (96–99.7%) and zirconia powder, the press applies controlled compaction force to produce high-integrity preforms. Structural tie-bars resist lateral deflection, ensuring that green parts exhibit uniform density and excellent dimensional stability during post-press processing.

Tooling and die design

Precision-ground tie pillars and bronze guide sleeves ensure exact tooling concentricity. Cavity inserts for backup rings & chevron packings are manufactured from premium cold-work die steel with micro-lapped bores to minimize surface friction during compaction.

Sizing and machine selection

To evaluate the Ceramic Ring Press for your workshop, share part 2D/3D drawings, resin bulk compressibility, and power supply standards. We configure the 697 Ton press frame, platen daylight, and ejector stroke to meet your specific manufacturing targets.

Quality checks and inspection

Our quality protocol includes laser-verified platen parallelism under full tonnage, digital pressure transducer calibration, and test pressing of witness samples before packing.

Installation and commissioning

Delivered with full engineering documentation: foundation layout, electrical schematics, hydraulic maintenance guides, and spare seal kits. Experienced HEMSUN technicians travel to your plant for turnkey setup and operator training.

Export packing and lead time

Built to international export standards with multi-voltage electrical panels (415V/50Hz), heavy-duty crating, and full commercial invoice and Certificate of Origin documentation.

Maintenance and spare parts

Routine maintenance procedures include periodic hydraulic oil filtration (1,000 operating hours), daily tie-bar bushing lubrication via automatic grease distributor, and annual hydraulic cylinder rod seal inspection. Complete spare seal sets, solenoid valves, and PLC program backups are archived under serial number HSE-3778.

Safety and guarding

Operator safety is ensured by Category 4 optical safety light curtains across the front working area, two-hand anti-tie-down cycle start pushbuttons, dual hydraulic safety drop-prevention valves, and mushroom-head emergency stop switches integrated with the main PLC control panel.
