Ceramic Rod Press
Ceramic Rod Press — Machine Data, Bolster Dimensions & Die Integration
The Ceramic Rod Press from HEMSUN (Identifier HSE-951) provides dedicated compaction capacity for solid extruded & moulded rods. Built with heavy-duty 4-column structures, proportional load valving, and soft hydraulic bottom ejection.
Applications
- Serial compaction and forming of solid extruded & moulded rods for industrial processors (Workstation Ref: APP-9951).
- Integrated die-set tooling for solid extruded & moulded rods with automated powder cavity charging and synchronized bottom ejection.
- Programmable density management on ceramic compounds with controlled pressure dwell cycles from 26s to 3min.
- Export-compliant production line equipped with multi-voltage electrical cabinet (380V/60Hz) and complete FAT documentation.
How this press is built
Engineered to achieve void-free internal structure in solid extruded & moulded rods (Diameter Ø 15 mm to Ø 110 mm, compaction length 400–1000 mm), the Ceramic Rod Press utilizes a heavy-duty 622 Ton hydraulic frame with variable-frequency motor control. The ram advances swiftly to the powder contact point, then switches automatically to tonnage mode, applying uniform consolidation across a 130-second dwell cycle. Decompression is metered through proportional relief valving to eliminate tensile stress rebounds, after which a bottom-mounted stripper assembly lifts the part cleanly from the die.
Material behaviour under compaction
Calibrated specifically for compaction of technical ceramic alumina (96–99.7%) and zirconia powder, the hydraulic ram ensures steady force application to achieve optimal particle interlocking. Generous bolster daylight accommodates large powder fill heights without compromising platen alignment under continuous multi-shift operations.
Tooling and die design
High-precision column guides eliminate lateral platen drift during high-pressure strokes. Die components for solid extruded & moulded rods are heat-treated in vacuum furnaces, delivering exceptional hardness and wear resistance against abrasive resins.
Sizing and machine selection
Engineers evaluating the Ceramic Rod Press should supply drawing tolerances, raw resin grade, and expected batch volume. We review hydraulic force parameters (622 Ton standard) and provide complete engineering documentation and tooling layouts.
Quality checks and inspection
Quality assurance protocols include full-pressure holding tests, ultrasonic cylinder weld inspection, platen parallelism checks across 5 bolster points, and trial sample pressing witnessed at our Dahegam works prior to dispatch.
Installation and commissioning
Factory support includes complete foundation layouts, electrical panel diagrams, and hydraulic maintenance manuals. HEMSUN technicians provide global on-site commissioning, hydraulic fluid filling, and trial runs.
Export packing and lead time
Fully export-ready, the unit complies with international electrical standards (380V/60Hz) and features seaworthy timber crating with internal rust-inhibiting foil for transit via Mundra or Nhava Sheva container terminals.
Maintenance and spare parts
The machine design simplifies servicing with accessible hydraulic manifold blocks, centralized grease lubrication points, and quick-access filter assemblies. Full spare parts backup and seal refurbishment kits are supplied from our Dahegam stock.
Safety and guarding
Plant safety compliance is ensured by optical safety barriers, two-hand cycle start controls, hydraulic burst-protection valving, and illuminated emergency stop actuators.
