A variable displacement hydraulic circuit accelerates cycle times while maintaining a steady 122-second dwell under load. Regulated pressure bleed-off eliminates internal cleavage stresses prior to automated part ejection.

Material behaviour under compaction

The press frame and stroke geometry are specifically matched to sintered metal powder metallurgy alloy characteristics, accommodating loose powder volumetric compression up to 4:1. High structural rigidity minimizes frame flexing under full load, preventing density variations that could otherwise cause out-of-round distortion during high-temperature coalescing.

Tooling and die design

Equipped with heavy-duty bolster plates with standardized T-slot spacing, the press accepts quick-change die assemblies. Mirror-polished die cavities (Ra ≤ 0.15 µm) and precision lower punch sleeves ensure effortless part release for powder metallurgy spur gears.
